Sam's Faith in Spain Wins the Cup
Sam has
won our Euro 2008 trophy with a superb late surge to take the title from
Charlie and
Elliott by just 2 points! His return of 11 points from the final,
plus 5 further points for having predicted Spain would lift the trophy
before the tournament started, sees him jump from 6th after the semi's to
take our title, and boost his Hall of Fame position (see below). Well done Sam
Elliott
also did very well, climbing from 5th to equal 2nd, partly because he also
had Spain to triumph long ago, and he finishes
level with Charlie, who had been in the
running throughout the competition. Chris,
who had been leading going into the final,
finally finished 5th after putting his faith in Klose and Germany
to be victorious. Only 5 points separated the top 5 people in the
end, so it was very close overall!!
The second best score from the final itself came from Tom, who was the only person to correctly predict the 1-0 victory for Spain, while Cossie and Sam were the only ones to put their faith in Torres scoring the opening goal (he was the top rated player too).
5-a-side Finish
Jim had the top scoring 5-a-side team, with Lehman, Ballack and Torres the reason. The top players from our picks in each grouping at the end were:

of Fame Update
Sam's win sees him leap above Cossie into 2nd place in the Hall of Fame. Elliott and Charlie also climb the table with their equal second placing. Gary is still out on his own at the top though.
