Guess the Outcome '10?

Postby mr cambo » Sun Dec 06, 2009 11:38 am

The 2010 competition kicks off with a 09/10 Xmas and New Year Special

The points will change for this competition… everyone will score points. If, say 6 people enter one week, then the closest scores 6 points, working down to the person who is furthest away scoring 1 point.

For this Xmas special, the points are doubled. We won’t set the next one until mid-Jan (ish) though, so we have a break.

Good luck

Here goes…

The Cambos.com snooker competition on Dec 21st (L&P, Mr Cambo, Dr Death, Sk8r)

Highest break (if event cancelled for any reason - more broken feet etc, use 1)

times

SA vs England 2nd test (begins Boxing Day) – highest individual batting score (single innings) Use 10 if the whole test is washed out.

Divided by

The number of goals the 20 Premier League teams score less the number they concede in the 3rd round of the FA Cup (Jan 2nd weekend - initial match only)

points scores by people wearing waistcoats at one visit to the table = 13
number of times Graeme Smith runs past one of his own team = 125
number of goals scored by teams including Manure at Old Trafford less those scored by teams like Leeds/Kettering at Old Trafford = 23

(13 X 125)/23 = 70.65

Just to say I haven't forgotten about this, but the snooker has been postponed a few times.

It's now booked for Feb 18th, and so we'll use the highest break that night (awaits litigation proceedings from Benn & Associates regarding the rules).

Should the 18th be cancelled then I'll go with the default setting, and we can begin the competition as usual again.

As regards the other components:

FA Cup +23 goals scored from prem teams

Cricket - Bell scored 140 runs

L&P has already packed his "professional cue". Dr Death and I will no doubt be using cue's of a lower standard, but we're all limbering up for the cambos snooker challenge tomorrow night, and then we can begin the 2010 Guess the Outcome proper.

We finally complete the xmas special, with double points.

15 (snooker top break) x 140 runs / 23 net goals = 91.30

the Major was closest, while I was furthest away :(

Opening Table:

Major Tom 12
L&P 10
Cossie 8
Mr Benn 6
Swcoach 4
Mr Cambo 2

There'a long way to go, so if pxyzyzygy and Dr Death want to join in, you're not far behind (me)

The Major sets the one for the upcoming week. Good luck.

OK first regular Guess The Outcome all happens this Sunday 28th February. It is a crisp free zone. However, Noel Edmonds does figure.

Total runs scored in First One Day International: Bangladesh v England (count 100 if no runs scored. IE cancelled or abandoned)

Times:

Number in first box opened on Sunday's Deal or No Deal. (For 1p put 1, 10p put 10 up to 250,000) Just put the number as revealed - ignore the pound and pence signs. Table below should clarify*. Sorry if confusing (what do you mean if? Stick to crisps. Ed)

Divided by:

Total number of goals scored in the Men's gold and bronze medal games in the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Sunday:

*Possible Numbers to guess are:
1 (This counts if box reveals 1p or £1)
5 (This counts if box reveals £5)
10 (This counts if box reveals 10p or £10)
50 (This counts if box reveals 50p or £50)
100 (This counts if box reveals £100)
250 (This counts if box reveals £250)
500(This counts if box reveals £500)
750(This counts if box reveals £750)
1,000(This counts if box reveals £1000)
3,000 (This counts if box reveals £3000)
5,000 (This counts if box reveals £5000)
10,000 (This counts if box reveals £10,000)
15,000(This counts if box reveals £15,000)
20,000(This counts if box reveals £20,000)
35,000 (This counts if box reveals £35,000)
50,000 (This counts if box reveals £50,000)
75,000 (This counts if box reveals £75,000)
100,000 (This counts if box reveals £100,000)
250,000 (This counts if box reveals £250,000)

Right, here we go...

Number of times men in long white trousers try and run past each other = 400
Value of the first box pointed at by Mr Blobby's old best mate = £500 therefore 500
number of pucks hitting nets that Alan Weeks would have enjoyed = 10

therefore (400 X 500)/10 =20,000

Special prize if you can name everyone in this picture

Men running: 311
Man with beard: 10,000
Men on skates: 14

(311 x 10,000) / 14 = 222,142.857142

I can name them all, do I get a prize?
