This shot was taken during the Dakar Rally, somewhere in Morocco.
No one else in sight, just enormous sand dunes for miles and miles.

 

This was a clash between a 6-foot (1.8m) alligator and a 13-foot (3.9m)
python, and it left two of the deadliest predators dead in a Florida swamp.

The Burmese python tried to swallow its
fearsome rival whole, but then exploded!

You can see the python's remains with the victim's tail protruding from its burst midsection.
The head of the python was missing.

The picture is of Europe and Africa when the sun is setting. The bright dots you see are the city lights. The top part of Africa is the Sahara Desert. Note that the lights are already on in Holland, Paris, and Barcelona, and that's it's still daylight in Dublin, London, Lisbon, and Madrid.

Note that the Sahara is huge and can be seen clearly both during Daytime and night time.

                                                    To the left, on top, is Greenland, totally frozen.
